ÑANDUTI
I was a photographer still for the Ñanduti long-term project in 2016, the name of the project means web, in Guarani, and implies the creation of a webseries to address themes about diversity and fight prejudices such as xenophobia, racism, homophobia, gender violence and social exclusion. These themes are plaguing the city of Foz do Iguaçu and the tri-national border in the face of immigration flows from that region.
Prejudices result in reactions against the permanence of immigrants and the consolidation of the border territory as a space of diversity, acceptance and interculturality. Nanduti will be a cartography of immigration in Foz do iguaçu based on the different flows, relationships and motivations for displacement, mainly related to the affective ties that involve the immigrant characters.
The first theme, already started in 2016, with research and radio programs, in addition to a pilot episode, is immigration. This theme should continue to be worked on in 2017-2018-2019, with the finalization of the product, which will be a series of 13 10-minute chapters and monthly radio programs.
The documentary series will be based on reports and archive images, where the characters will be Unila's foreign students and also the landscape of the border territory. And radio programs will be more comprehensive to address the issue of border immigration more broadly, with interviews with real characters and experts. the partnership with Futura channel is expected to be established in 2019 for the audiovisual series and with local radio stations for the radio interview packages.
